  • Please introduce briefly the Business DevelopmentㆍInvestment of HL Holdings task.

    New business development and investment tasks are largely divided into two aspects. First, there is the organic growth aspect, where we grow externally by finding ways to do what we have been doing better, and the second is the organic growth, which gives new colors to the business by discovering new growth engines for the future.

  • When did you feel the most rewarding while performing your business development/investment job?

    It's time to see the companies in which our team has invested grow. Our portfolio ranges from consumer goods to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). It is the most rewarding to see investment companies solving the world's problems while they are growing. In addition, such investments make it possible for the members of the company to make a small contribution to the advancement of the current business and expansion into a new value chain.

Interview about Competency

  • What kind of competencies do you think are necessary for business development and investment jobs?

    ‘Be a Super Generalist’ Investing in a company means understanding and analyzing various indicators such as business feasibility, growth potential, and profitability. Therefore, competencies such as understanding basic numbers (financial statements) and forecasting economics and megatrends for each industry are required. It is a job that requires core knowledge in several fields rather than in-depth knowledge in a specific field. Above all, being full of curiosity about the world is a necessary start for the job.

  • What efforts are you making to improve your business development and investment capabilities?

    In my opinion, the most important competency is ‘urgency’. Because our environment and world change so fast, in order to grow the company, we always try to keep in mind the question, 'Will our company and the organization be competitive in the future?.' In order to become a competitive company, we are working hard today to analyze the market and companies with a view of how the world outside the company is changing.

  • Lastly, please give a word of support to HL Holdings applicants.

    I want you to become a talented person who constantly strives to improve individual competitiveness with earnestness and confidence. I still remember the interview I had when I joined HL Group. At that time, earnestness, tension, fear, trembling, anticipation, and self-confidence to work for this company guide me when I am lost.
